Huawei is introducing two new features to the nova 2i which will bring functionality and fun to the phone. The new features are Face Unlock and AR lens which will be made available to all Huawei nova 2i users by 30 January 2018.
The Face Unlock will come with two options, the first being a Direct Unlock which will immediately unlock the phone when it detects the user’s face, or Slide to Unlock which will require users to swipe on the screen to completely unlock the phone. If users choose the latter feature, the nova 2i will automatically hide the smart lock screen notification if that person does not have face ID registered.
With the AR Lens feature, users can super-impose themselves into photos with their idols or take a picture standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben or even the Sydney Harbour bridge thanks to the dual-front camera and the dual-back cameras.
When 30 January comes around, users that did not receive the push notification to update their phones can check for updates by going into Settings, then System Update. Tap on the three dots on the upper right corner and tap Download latest full package to get the latest update with these two features.
