HUAWEI set to release its own mobile services before 2020

HUAWEI went through a rough patch this year, but the Chinese tech giant seems determined to start 2020 strong by launching HUAWEI Media Services (HMS) before the end of this year.

“We have our own HMS and are trying to build a mobile ecosystem. Most of the key apps such as navigation, payments, gaming and messaging will be ready by December end,” said HUAWEI’s representative.

The company seemed very confident about their HMS, stating that “consumers won’t see a difference between GMS and HMS,” and that the company is currently working with developers and partners to bring the top 100-150 apps to their consumers. Using the $1 billion global fund that it has, HUAWEI is using $17,000 as an incentive to integrate apps with HMS in India.

It is applaudable that HUAWEI is overcoming the huge obstacle in such a short time, but is it really possible for HUAWEI to catch up with Google to the point where there’s no difference between the two companies’ services? Well, only time can tell.
