With the Galaxy Note 8 sporting a dual camera setup, we can be pretty certain that dual cameras on smartphones will be staying for a while before technology further advances in smartphone photography. Huawei has posted a new teaser image for its upcoming Mate 10 flagship, and it might or might not have given Samsung a tiny jab for its Note 8’s dual camera setup.
While Huawei did not make the first ever dual camera smartphone, it was definitely the company which made dual camera setups on smartphones an essential feature with its collection of dual cam handsets. For the record, the first ever dual camera smartphone was the LG Optimus 3D which was capable of taking 3D photos and videos.
Shortly after Samsung launched the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8, Huawei posted up what seems to be a teaser image of the Huawei Mate 10 with a subtle “Welcome to the Dual Camera Family” phrase in it, likely pointing out the fact that Samsung has hopped onto the dual camera bandwagon. The image also showcases the Huawei P9, Huawei Mate 9 and the Huawei P10, all of which have dual camera setups, plus the launch date of the Huawei Mate 10 with a generic dual camera smartphone image.
The Galaxy Note 8 marks the return of Samsung’s Note line and a dual camera setup for the first time ever in Samsung’s history. The phone will be facing tough competition from the likes of the Mate 10, the LG V30 and the iPhone 8 series.
