HUAWEI unveiled the MatePad Pro during its event in Spain today, alongside the foldable Mate Xs, the MateBook X Pro, MateBook D14 & D15, and more.
The MatePad Pro comes with a 10.8-inch FullView display with DCI-P3 for vibrant colours. While it looks slightly similar to the iPad Pro, it has a higher screen-to-body-ratio at 90%. It uses fibre glass, but there’s also a vegan leather material — in total, there’ll be four colour options: Green, Orange, White and Black.
Like other HUAWEI devices, the tablet also supports multi-screen collaboration so you can use your smartphone on the tablet or drag and drop files across HUAWEI devices. In addition, it comes with quad speakers for better audio and features four microphones and one more at the back of the tablet for noise-cancelling purposes.
The MatePad Pro is also a tablet that offers reverse wireless charging, in addition to its 40w wired SuperCharge and 27W wireless SuperCharge. Using the HUAWEI APP Multiplier, it supports two windows in which you can adjust the size, easing the act of multitasking. It is powered by the Kirin 990 processor.
HUAWEI also introduced a stylus — the M-Pencil — and a Smart Keyboard to go with the tablet. The keyboard comes with 1.3mm long key travel and wireless charging, while the stylus can be charged when attached to the side of the tablet.
The HUAWEI MatePad Pro with WiFi support starts at €549 for its 6GB + 128GB variant and €649 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. As for its LTE variant, you’ll need to spend €599 for the base model and €699 for the higher-end model. HUAWEI also has a vegan leather edition for its 8GB + 256GB WiFi model which will cost you €749, but you’ll also get the M-Pencil to go with the tablet.
If you want the tablet to come with 5G support, be prepared to pay €799 for the 8GB + 256GB model and €949 for the 8GB + 512GB model.
