HUAWEI has announced that their Mate 30 Pro 5G smartphone will be available this February 7 priced at RM4,199.
It will be one of the first 5G devices available in the country and you can get it at HUAWEI’s Experience Stores or through major telcos such as Maxis, Celcom and UMobile. Digi will offer the device a little later.
HUAWEI will also be giving you free gifts worth up to RM537 when you purchase a Mate 30 Pro 5G – the goodies include a one-year expended warranty as well as a wireless in-car SuperCharge charger.
5G is the new generation of network technology and the MCMC had announced that the gazetted mass deployment is set for Q3 this year – meaning as soon as July, we’ll be able to enjoy 5G.
A tender process is being carried out for the 5G bands made available by the government – these are the 700Mhz, 3,5Ghz, as well as mmWave bands 26GHz and 28GHz.
With 5G arriving soon, Huawei is upping their game ahead of OPPO, who had recently announced the SIRIM certification of their OPPO Reno 10x Zoom 5G smartphone. As it stands, our 5G smartphone options include the vivo NEX 3 and the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G. The Reno should arrive soon, while we can look forward to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10 launches to add to the list.
