If you’ve been patiently waiting for the Android 8.0 Oreo update on your HTC U Ultra, wait no more. HTC has finally revealed that they will roll out the update, though it’s only going to be available to three countries at the moment: Taiwan, India and Italy.
As you wait patiently for the update to be available in your country, here are some details you ought to know. First of all, you will need to have enough storage for the update as it’s going to take 1.6GB of your phone storage, still a fairly sizable download if we must say so.
One odd thing about the update is that it contains the January security patch, a little bit older when we’ve expected a newer version that comes along with it. And there’s nothing else being mentioned in the changelog apart from “system enhancements”, so it seems like there won’t be much advancements to the Oreo update.
Apart from the U Ultra, HTC’s U11 and HTC 10 will also receive the Oreo update so it’s safe to say that their goal has been accomplished in rolling out the Oreo updates. We’ll keep an eye out when the update is available for HTC U Ultra in Malaysia.
