HTC has come a long way with its mid range Desire lineup of phones, and the Taiwanese manufacturer has introduced two new additions to the Desire series. With the HTC 10 not doing as well as expected in terms of sales, the company plans to bounce back from its struggling form with the attractive duo of Desire phones, the Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle.

Based on their names themselves, it is rather clear that the Desire 10 Pro is the better spec-ed device than the Desire Lifestyle. The former sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass protection and a 64-bit octa core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset underneath the hood. Two memory configurations are made available for the Desire 10 Pro, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, or 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. Regardless, the onboard storage is expandable via micro SD. In the optics department, the phone features a 20MP rear camera with laser auto focus and f/2.2 aperture, along with a whopping 13MP selfie camera on the front, a pretty impressive camera package on paper. The Desire 10 Pro is equipped with HTC’s BoomSound profile and a rear fingerprint sensor, plus it packs a 3,000mAh and will support Quick Charge.

Moving a notch down, which isn’t entirely a bad thing, the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle features the same display size in Super LCD and Gorilla Glass protection, but with a 720p resolution. HTC opted for a Snapdragon processor in this handset, making it run on a Snapdragon 400 SoC. The Desire 10 Lifestyle too comes in two memory configurations – 2GB of RAM with 16GB of expandable storage and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage. The handset sports a standard mid range camera setup with a 13MP/5MP pair of rear and front facing cameras. Powering the Desire 10 Lifestyle is a 2,700mAh battery that also supports Quick Charge. Where the phone outshines the Desire 10 Pro is with its audio features. The Desire 10 Lifestyle features HTC’s BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition and Dolby Audio, to fit the Lifestyle branding.

The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle is set to be released by the end of this month, while the better spec-ed Desire 10 Pro will have to wait till a November release. Prices have yet to be revealed but both Desire phones seem pretty promising for what they offer so far. What do you think?
