The HTC Bolt finally goes official worldwide, carrying a different title as HTC tries to get back into the smartphone game. The company has launched the HTC 10 evo, which was previously exclusive to US major carrier Sprint recently. The HTC 10 evo is pretty much like the Bolt, only with one or two differences.
For starters, the HTC 10 evo sports a QHD display on the front, measuring at 5.5-inches. As mentioned on a couple of occasions before, the HTC 10 evo rocks an older generation Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 810 clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM. Unlike the HTC Bolt, the HTC 10 evo comes in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. The Bolt on the other hand is only offered in the 32GB variant.
Moving on, the HTC 10 evo has a 16MP rear camera with OIS. On the front side lies a selfie camera of 8 megapixels. To refresh your memory, the handset comes without a headphone jack, hence everything will go through its USB Type C port. Speaking of which, the phone comes with a pair of USB Type C earphones. Other specs include a 3,200mAh battery and water resistance. The HTC 10 evo has an IP57 certification, which on paper is claimed to be able to submerge in water up to 50 metres of depth and up to 30 minutes in terms of duration.
On top of the Gunmetal and Glacier Silver color options that is offered for the HTC Bolt, the HTC 10 evo has an extra color option – Pearl Gold. Pricing and availability for the handset has yet to be announced, but it shouldn’t take long. Thoughts?
