HTC is gearing up for its HTC 10 evo launch event in home land Taiwan, but the handset isn’t exactly new. Just a week ago, the Taiwanese OEM unveiled a HTC Bolt exclusively with US major carrier Sprint. As it turns out, the HTC 10 evo is indeed the title that the HTC Bolt carries outside of the US. Here’s a refresher course on what to expect with the HTC 10 evo when it goes official.

The HTC 10 evo sports a 5.5-inch display upfront with a QHD resolution, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. To recap, the controversial aspects of the phone begin with its processor. Underneath the hood of the HTC 10 evo lies a Snapdragon 810 processor, the same processor used in most flagships in 2015, also the same processor whereby its initial version encountered overheating issues. Alongside the SD810 are 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, expandable via micro SD.

The HTC 10 evo features a 16MP rear facing camera, coupled with a seflie shooter of 8 megapixels on the front side of the device. HTC decided to omit the headphone jack on the handset, the demise of which may cause woes among consumers and fans. Instead, the phone will come packed with a pair of USB Type-C headphones. Speaking of which, is the port for charging. The HTC 10 evo packs a 3,200mAh battery, and is HTC’s first ever phone with water and dust resistance, considering the fact that both the Bolt and the 10 evo are the same handsets. The phone has an IP57 rating, allowing submersion 1 metre deep in water for up to 30 minutes.

Last but not least, the HTC 10 evo should be running on Android Nougat like the HTC Bolt. Pricing hasn’t been unveiled so far but the handset isn’t going to come cheap since the HTC Bolt carries a price tag of $600 (RM2,643.30) stateside. Till then, we shall keep our eyes peeled till the November 22 launch date.
