HP released the Omen X a powerful gaming laptop that can be overclocked

Just like the smartphone race, companies are also racing to release the best value gaming laptop and previously we covered the launch of the Omen by HP and what they offered was very appealing. They did not stop there because they have released another Omen laptop called the Omen X and it is a very powerful device.

The laptop comes with a 17-inch 4K display for the top end and a 120Hz 1080p display for the other variant. Both the screens will support Nvidia G-Sync and they will offer graphic cards up to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 with the ability to connect two displays. Just like the previous Omen models, it is very easy to upgrade the laptop with just a single panel covering the HDD, SSD and RAM.

HP has also included mechanical switches for the RGB keyboard and each key can be customized with programmable lighting animation. Ports-wise there is three standard USB ports, two USB Type-C Thunderbolt ports, HDMI port which supports HDR, mini DisplayPort, Ethernet port and a card reader slot.

The laptop will not come cheap as the base model which comes with an i7-7700HQ, GTX 1070, 1080p display, 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD with 1TB HDD will cost $1,999. The 4K display, i7-7700HQ, GTX 1080 and 32GB RAM will cost $2,349 and the highest end will cost $3,699 and comes with a GTX 1080, 4K display, an overclockable i7-7820HK processor, 32GB RAM and two 1TB SSD with 1TB HDD. No information has been shared about the Malaysian pricing but we will be attending the event when it does happen.
