The HONOR 10 Lite is about to launch in Malaysia on the 8 January, but that won’t be the only new smartphone HONOR is revealing. This is because HONOR will also be launching the HONOR 8A on 8 January in China.

The HONOR 8A is a successor to the HONOR 7A that was launched in mid-2018, and now renders are suggesting how the HONOR 8A will look like.

Design wise, the HONOR 8A is pretty similar to its predecessor, except that it now comes with a waterdrop notch. That aside, the chin is still rather thick like the HONOR 7A but the screen size has increased as it will be coming with a 6.09-inch LCD panel with HD+ display.

As this is an entry level series, the HONOR 8A will be sporting a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, but it will come with EMUI 9.0 based on the latest Android 9 Pie. It is also expected to come with a single option of 3GB RAM, but users can choose between 32GB storage and 64GB storage which can be expanded with a microSD card.

What’s surprising is that the HONOR 8A seems to be getting a downgrade in terms of camera. Instead of the dual rear camera that is seen in HONOR 7A, the HONOR 8A will only come with a single 13MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture. The front camera is expected to be similar to the HONOR 7A’s 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The HONOR 8A is also expected to house a 3020mAh battery which makes the difference so insignificant because the HONOR 7A comes with a 3000mAh battery.

Only by 8 January will we know if all the information regarding the HONOR 8A is true, but let’s hope that the company is not really removing the secondary camera.
