More and more handsets are marching into Android Nougat territory from Marshmallow, and manufacturers worldwide have been constantly pushing updates to phones that haven’t gotten their share of Nougat. Chinese company Huawei has promised Honor 8 users that they will be getting their handsets updated to Android Nougat with EMUI 5.0 as early as a little over a month from now in February 2017.

The Android Nougat beta software for the Honor 8 has been rolled out a month ago, and Huawei plans to wrap things up and eventually get the official build of Android Nougat software rolling out to the Honor 8 units worldwide. Not only will Android Nougat bring changes with some added features, EMUI 5.0 has its own set of improvements as well. For instance, App Lock that allows users to secure apps individually, being able to run different profiles in parallel, and also smarter power management which creates more efficiency in terms of battery consumption.

As for the chunks of features that come with Android Nougat, users will be getting multi-window support for apps, Doze on the Go, quick app switching and a many more. Let’s hope Huawei sticks to its promise with the Honor 8’s future software update to Android Nougat. What do you think?
