Just yesterday, we have received news that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be officially launched in China on the 25th of October, precisely a week from today. On the other hand, a new rumor has popped out indicating that the Mi Note 2 won’t go easy on our pockets. With top of the line specs, Xiaomi is said to be slapping a really premium price tag on its upcoming flagship phablet.

The rumor, which originated from Weibo, states that the higher end variant, or rather the most premium top spec-ed model of the Mi Note 2 will carry a whopping price tag of 5,699 CNY (RM3,546.90). The rumored premium variant should be sporting a Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. While the price point might seem reasonable for such impressive specs, it certainly does not reflect the Xiaomi that has been defying the odds with high spec-ed flagship handsets at affordable prices.

According to GizmoChina, Xiaomi has also happened to conduct an online poll for the pricing of the Mi Note 2, with 4,999 CNY, 5,999 CNY and 6,999 CNY as voting options. The 4,999 CNY price tag obviously obtained the most votes but the online poll does support this rumor of a premiumly priced Xiaomi phablet. If the rumor happens to be spot on, the lower end 4GB RAM/64GB storage model will likely cost above RM2,000 as well.

Other rumored specs include a 5.7-inch curved edge screen at QHD resolution, a dual rear camera setup of 16MP sensors and a 5MP front facing shooter. The phablet is also said to pack a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. What do you think?
