Hideo Kojima is officially no longer with Konami

The messiest break-up in the video games industry has finally come to an end as Hideo Kojima contract with Konami has officially been terminated.

According to Kojima himself, his contract with Konami was officially terminated yesterday. As such, he is now able to re-enter the video games industry without Konami’s lawyers hounding him at every step.

Immediately after Kojima’s contract is terminated, the man has reestablished Kojima Productions. Besides that, Sony and Kojima have announced that they will be entering a partnership which would see the next Kojima Productions game be a PlayStation Exclusive.

Kojima’s choice of working with Sony and the PlayStation brand can probably be attributed to the fact that the Metal Gear Solid franchise rose to prominence on the original PlayStation.

In other news, the newly-reestablished Kojima Productions is currently looking to fill up a large amount of positions. For those interested, you might want to update your resumes.
