Google may have advised users against sideloading Google apps in HUAWEI phones, but the tech giant hasn’t given up on trying to get back in partnership with HUAWEI. The latest report shows that Google wants to re-license HUAWEI to use its mobile services.
Due to the US ban that started out last year, HUAWEI has been cut off from several US and US-related technology. Luckily for HUAWEI, Microsoft was one US company that was given an exemption so that they can have Windows on their laptops.
If Google succeeds in getting the license to work with HUAWEI again, then the company will be offering updates to HUAWEI phones so that users can once again enjoy GMS. It’ll make things easier for HUAWEI users who are attached to Google apps like Google Chrome, Gmail, YouTube and Google Drive. Even if HUAWEI chooses not to pre-install Google apps into its devices, at least users can still sideload them.
On the other hand, if Google’s request is denied by the US government, then HUAWEI users will have no choice but to be stuck with Huawei Mobile Services.
