Google is making its two-step verification process a bit easier to the users as the upcoming update to its Google Play Services will see the introduction of Google Prompt.
According to 9to5Google, unlike the old two-step verification method which involves a code being sent to your phone number, Google Prompt would bring up a simple dialogue that features your name, profile image, and the specific city and device you’re trying to login from. Underneath the details are “Nom deny sign-in” or “Yes, allow sign-in” options, allowing to user to deny or approve the sign-in request.
This feature won’t be Android-centric of course. Google Prompt will be coming to iOS as well, although you will need to download the Google Search app for iOS. Once installed, iOS users will likely receive a simple notification directing them to open the Google App.
The latest version of Google Play Services is expected to roll out within the next three days. With that update, the Google Help Center will be updated with further instructions.
