Google secretly added swipe-to-unlock feature for phone while Android Auto is active

Sure, Android smartphones would have easy access to the Android Auto app, but Google also makes it a point to shut down access to the phone when the app is on and you’re busy driving on the road. It’s a nice touch because your main focus is to concentrate on the road in front of you, but what if you really need access to your phone while it’s being paired to the car?

The solution here is simple. Google has hear your worries out. They have apparently quietly rolled out a swipe-to-unlock access to your own phone while Android Auto is active. This makes it easier for users because you will be able to check your own text message without having the need to actually jump through hoops to get to your own home screen. That’s one thoughtful effort right there, so kudos to the team.

But don’t be surprised if you may find it unavailable yet since the feature has just been released and Google has not given any formal announcements about it yet as well. One thing’s for sure, though, it could be a really useful feature since it curbs distracted driving and gives convenience to drivers, so it’s a win-win.
