A new feature called Live Albums was introduced by Google in Google Photos back in October, and the Live Album is a convenient way of creating albums that will automatically add new photos of people or pets to the album so you don’t have to manually do so.

The Live Album recently got a new minor update in which the album limit is now at 20,000 images, twice more than when it was first introduced. While 10,000 images seem like a lot, it really isn’t as time passes and you’re constantly creating new memories with your friends and family, which is why Google brought in the new update.

However, Google did state that some features might not be available when the album is too large, but they did not specify the features that might be missing. That being said, they did announce in the support page that users can add up to 20,000 photos or videos to their album.

To create a live album, just create an album in Google Photos, and then click on “Automatically add photos of people” and you’ll be given the option to select the faces of those you want to add into the album. After you’re done selecting, click the “Turn on” button and all images of the people and pets you’ve selected will automatically be added in the album.
