Google’s live event at San Francisco is currently commencing as we speak. While most of us are looking forward to the Pixel 2 series, Google has launched a larger version of its previously launched Home, with a couple of minor refinements and improvements – the Home Max.

First of all, the speaker is blanketed by a piece of fabric, which houses two 4.5-inch woofers. The microphones are pretty impressive as well as Google claims them to be far field microphones that can capture your commands even while music is playing. The Home Max comes with Bluetooth and Google Cast support, a 3.5 mm audio jack. The speaker also comes with touch controls

The Home Max by Google is definitely made to compete with the likes of Apple’s HomePod, hence it will have a bunch of similar features as well, just like this one. Google’s Smart Sound technology will enable the Home Max to learn the surroundings of a room and tune itself to accommodate the room. It can also automatically tune to volume based on the type of audio that is fed out of the speakers, and increase or reduce the volume according to what’s happening around it.

The Google Home Max will be made available in the US this coming December for a price tag of $399. Google will offer 12 months of ad-free YouTube music subscription with the purchase of the Home Max.
