As announced by Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, the AI-powered Smart Compose will be coming to G Suite’s Google Docs soon.

Smart Compose is current available in Gmail, whereby AI technology is used to predict words in an email, shortening the time needed to compose them. It is first introduced in May 2018 and now has been expanded to Gmail — both desktop and mobile version.

Now, the AI feature will be integrated in Google Docs so that it can provide assistance in composing longer texts. However, Google Docs can be assumed to cover a larger range of writing styles and purposes, so the algorithm may need to be improved to offer the suitable word suggestions.

As of now, Google Docs’ Smart Compose is only available for domain administrators in an English beta version. You can sign up for it here if you’re interested.
