Good news for those of you running on Lollipop as Google has announced that they are bringing Google Assistant support to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Prior to this, the company mentioned that the assistant will only be available for phones running Nougat and Marshmallow but it seems like they want more people to experience Assistant.
Not only is it coming to Android Lollipop, it is also confirmed to be coming to tablets as well. Assistant as most of you know is Google’s voice command assistant that replaced Google Now. Similar to the likes of Siri and Alexa, Assistant will allow you to navigate your phones ask it to answer questions for you, rather than searching the web to get your answer. The voice assistant also learns the more you interact with it and will eventually offer you more functionality.
Google is rolling out Assistant to users that have set their language to English with a focus on US, UK, India Australia, Canada and Singapore. It will come to the rest of the world soon after, you will be able to see an Assistant app icon in your All Apps list when it arrives on your phone.
