Chrome is one of the most popular browsers out there over multiple platforms. Over at the Chrome Dev Summit, Devin Fisher, Chrome’s Engineering Vice President has stated that the Google Chrome browser has been installed on a whopping 2 billion devices across the mobile and desktop platform.

The large figure of installs are said to be in active use, according to a report by Tech Crunch. The last time Google has reported such figures or stats regarding its own browser was roughly six months back in April, where the tech giant has unveiled the number of active Chrome users as 1 billion. The 1 billion active Chrome users have certainly increased since then, although there were no reports regarding the statistics by the folks at Google duringthe Chrome Dev Summit.

The Google Chrome browser first made its appearance back in 2008 on Windows, and has come a long way now, being available for other platforms such as Android, iOS, macOS and Linux. Google now has seven of its products that have surpassed a billion users on each – Android, Chrome, Gmail, the Google Play Store, Maps, Search and YouTube, a very huge milestone indeed.
