Galaxy S8 Active confirmed to exist, by accident

Samsung’s Active line of rugged designed smartphones typically launch a couple of months after the company’s main flagship lineup is out. The Active series of Galaxy handsets have existed since the days of the S4, the most recent being the Galaxy S7 Active. We recently came across rumors that that there will be an S8 Active this year, and that news has more or less been confirmed.

A document has been uploaded on Samsung’s website, most likely by accident. The document consists of the full list of applications available on a device, with the title “Galaxy S8 Active LTE (G892A) Application List”. This confirms that the Galaxy S8 Active is indeed real and will make an appearance later this year.

The Galaxy S8 Active, like its predecessors, will most likely be spec-ed similarly to the regular Galaxy S8 – a 5.8-inch Infinity Display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 12MP camera. Since it is ruggedized, the Galaxy S8 Active will definitely feature a more hardy build with extra shock resistance to protect it from drops, which will result it being thicker than the standard variant.

The Galaxy S8 Active is also slated to be an AT&T exclusive, which happens to be the case for all Galaxy Active phones so far by Samsung.
