Galaxy Note 8 to launch on August 26

Samsung did not have a good year in 2016 when it came to its Galaxy Note line. The South Korean manufacturer launched the Galaxy Note 7, its flagship phablet of last year. The Note 7 had the highest potential to be the best smartphone of 2016, but was unfortunately plagued by a series of fire incidents, which led to a global recall for its battery faults, before eventually succumbing to a permanent discontinuation.

Samsung’s only flagship of 2016 turned out to be the Galaxy S7 series. The Note 7 on the other hand, is slated to make a return some time next month as refurbished units, with safe and smaller capacity batteries. South Korean news outlet Naver has reported that the Galaxy Note 8 will launch on August 26 at an event in New York.

The Galaxy Note 8 has been rumored to feature a dual camera setup, which will be the first ever on a Samsung smartphone. It is also said to be larger than the Galaxy S8+, while retaining the same near bezel-less screen design.

Like most of its predecessors, the Galaxy Note 8 will be launched and begin selling before Apple storms in with its upcoming iPhone series for 2017. What do you expect from the Galaxy Note 8?
