Future Whatsapp update will allow you to play Youtube videos without leaving the app

There is a new feature that is coming to Whatsapp in the next update that will allow you to watch YouTube videos within the app without launching the YouTube app on the phone. Previously there is no option to even view or preview the video without getting directed to the video streaming app.

According to WABetaInfo, it is a hidden feature in the latest version of Whatsapp and will be officially unlocked when it is ready. When the update rolls out, you will be able to view YouTube videos in picture-in-picture mode from Whatsapp it self. You will be able to drag the video window around, resize it using the pinch gesture or view it in full-screen mode. The down side is that this feature will only be coming to the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. There is no news on if it’s coming to Android, but the reason why it will be coming out for the mentioned phone is that they have bigger screens that would make this feature more practical to exist on these phones.

For the mentioned iPhone users, don’t skip on that next Whatsapp update or you might not be able to access this feature, which I truly wish was on my Android phone.
