Further leaks show the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with iris scanner

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is slated to launch less than a week from now on the 25th of October. By now, pretty much everything about the phablet is out of the bag, but there seems to be more where that came from. With the Galaxy Note 7 marked as dead last week, the phablet crown is now up for grabs and it looks like the Mi Note 2 has a lot of potential of edging past the rest of the competition when it’s unveiled.

For as many times now, we all do know that the Mi Note 2 is rumored to sport a QHD 5.7-inch display with 3D Touch technology. Underneath the hood, the phablet is said to be powered by the newer Snapdragon 821 SoC with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Apart from that, the phone is tipped to feature a under glass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a 4,100 mAh battery, but there’s more.

Chinese site Weibo has reportedly leaked some presentation slides said to be for the Xiaomi event next week. Apart from the earlier mentioned specs, another series of slides explain iris scanning technology. This tells us that there is a high possibility whereby the Mi Note 2 will be packing an iris scanning, like featured on the Note 7. If it turns out to be true, the Mi Note 2 might turn out just as feature packed as the Note 7, minus the stylus and water resistance.

While iris scanning is an innovative and a more secure technology, it has proved to be slightly less practical than a fingerprint sensor. Most users would rather utilize the fingerprint sensor instead of the iris scanner. Which one do you prefer?
