Fujifilm’s Instax Mini LiPlay lets you record audio up to 10 seconds, priced at $160

One of the popular products manufactured by Fujifilm is its series of Instax cameras where you instantly get to shoot a picture and have it printed out for you on the spot via the camera itself. Fujifilm just launched the new Instax Mini LiPlay, and it comes with an LCD screen instead of a viewfinder like the classic Instax cameras.

The LiPlay is more like hybrid camera — a combination of a digital camera and an analog instant film camera. It comes with a 2.7-inch LCD screen and a 1/5-inch CMOS sensor, in addition to a mic button placed at the front. There’s also a selfie mirror placed on top of its lens.

The mic button is why the Mini LiPlay stands out. This Instax camera is capable of recording audio up to 10 seconds and convert it into a QR code that is placed at the corner of your Instax photo. Once scanned, your phone will play the audio so you can hear what you and your friends were shouting/laughing about during that 10-second period.

There is also a microSD slot in the Mini LiPlay, in which you can use it to upload your pictures to your computer. Alternately, users can transfer pictures to their phones through the Mini LiPlay app. Moreover, users can use the app to print out photos from their phones, so it also functions as a photo printer.

The Mini LiPlay also supports Bluetooth, letting users control the camera remotely. It charges via Micro USB, and a single charge allows up to 100 prints. The Mini Liplay will go on sale from June 14 onwards for the price of $160, though it’s local pricing is not announced yet.
