Fake Ryzen processors are being sold by Amazon vendors

There are reports coming up that users that buy AMD Ryzen processors from Amazon are not getting quite what they asked for. Last few weeks, two users reported that they received Intel Celeron processors that were styled like Ryzen processors. At a closer glance, you can see that the integrated heat spreader does not match the ones on the real Ryzen processors, an even closer look shows the Ryzen marking on top of the IHS are part of a transparent sticker.

Other have indicated the lack of pins on the underside, the wrong heatsink bundled, and packaging that had been tampered with. It is not sure where these fake processors are coming from or if they are sold by Amazon directly or by a third party seller.

It’s always a good to be very cautious about buying expensive parts from the Internet, as the pictures provided might not be the exact product you will get. If you are planning to get components online, make sure they are from a legit source, or just get them from a trusted computer shop you frequent too.
