The latest update for Facebook’s Messenger app is one that bosses would not like as it brings with it a feature called Instant Games.
As the name implies, Instant Games will allow users to boot up games directly from their Messenger app without any additional downloads or set-ups. Just tap on the controller icon found at the typing area, select a game title, and start playing. As all the games in the feature are based on HTML 5, you don’t have to wait too long for it to load.
For now, Instant Games comes with 17 games to choose from, featuring a mix of arcade classics like Pac-Man and Galaga, to games that are much more modern like Words With Friends and Hex. All the games in the Instant Games feature comes with their own leaderboards and group conversations, allowing you to compete and interact with other gamers.
Instant Games is now live in 30 countries for iOS and Android users. If you’ve yet to see the feature, you can expect it to arrive within the next few days.
