Facebook couldn’t have picked a better time than now to launch its Messenger Desktop App for Mac and Windows users. Since everyone is practicing social distancing, they can now use the desktop app the video call their friends and family.

Facebook stated that there has been over a 100% increase of users using Messenger on browsers to audio and video call others in the last month. This is most likely the biggest contributing factor to Facebook launching its own Messenger desktop app now.

The desktop app will also share similar features to what you find on your phones. You can enjoy group video calls, get notifications and change your settings such as displaying your Active Status, choose between different themes and also select your preferred emoji skin tone.

The desktop app can be downloaded from both App Store and Microsoft Store.
