Facebook is testing out its own meme-creation app, Whale

If you’ve always wanted an app just to create memes, Facebook is on its way by testing out an app called Whale.

The app is created by “NPE Team from Facebook”, and there are actually two other apps created by this team — called Aux and Bump. Currently, it is only available in the Canadian App Store and there are no news of its availability in Google Play Store.

Basically, Whale makes it easier for individuals to create memes by offering basic editing tools and a bunch of stock photos. Users can then use these images and edit them any way they like before sharing their creation to others.

It’s obvious that this app is targeting the younger generation where memes are a big part of their lives, but that doesn’t guarantee that the app will be successful — especially since it isn’t very hard to create a meme with any other existing apps or programs.
