Facebook is always adding new handy features to its own platform which accommodates to a pool of ever growing social media junkies. A year ago, Facebook introduced Reactions, allowing its users to express themselves in different ways more than the existing thumbs up button. Since then, users had slightly more freedom to react to Facebook posts on their new feed. The company is now testing the same feature in its Messenger platform.
News outlet TechCrunch has gotten news from one of its readers who was kind enough to show them that Facebook is currently testing Reactions on Messenger, only available to a handful of users. The feature enables people in a conversation to react to individual texts in the conversation itself. For instance, you could use a sad or angry emoji as a means of disapproval over a specific text that your friend has sent in Messenger.
Facebook has since confirmed to TechCrunch that the company is indeed testing the new feature among the few lucky Messenger users. What makes Reactions on Messenger different from the current one of Facebook is that the former has a new “Dislike” emoji/button. It looks like the long awaited thumbs down button has made its way to Messenger, and it might soon add on to Facebook’s original collection of reactions.
