Facebook’s own version of TikTok is finally out; Collab is now available to the public, but you’ll have to be an iOS user who is in the U.S.
Collab: Combine three videos into one
Collab lets you combine three videos together as layers and all these layers will be played simultaneously. You can join different Collabs or even use them to mix with your own — the app is supposedly able to align the clips so all three videos are in sync. Though this seems like a music collaboration app, you can also combine different kinds of clip. For example, it can be a video in which there are two layers of music and another layer of someone dancing to the music — it’s all up to your creativity.
Video duration maxes out at 15 seconds
Similar to TikTok, you will also get a scrolling feed that shows you different Collabs. If you find anyone interesting, you can also favourite them to get notifications when there are new posts from them. Each Collab consists of three 15-second videos and you can choose to create your own or just mix three different videos that are created by others.
You can also choose to share your Collabs to other social media platforms, but just like TikTok, they will come with a watermark.
