The long awaited Essential Phone is finally available in the US. The first ever smartphone by Android co-founder Andy Rubin’s company is now available for pre-order via a number of US online avenues, including the Essential website itself.

The folks at Android Authority have pointed out that the Essential Phone can now be pre-ordered from the Essential website, popular online retailers Amazon and Best Buy, plus major US carrier Sprint. While consumers can purchase the Essential Phone for its full price of $699 (RM 3002.55) at the official site, Amazon and Best Buy, the phone can also be purchased together with Sprint’s phone plans, in which buyers can save more than a third of the phone’s price over the course of 18 months.

Just to recap, the Essential Phone features a beautiful front panel with an edge to edge 5.7-inch display at QHD resolution, with a camera cut out in the middle. The phone is powered by the top notch Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The dual camera setup is of two 13MP sensors and the front facing camera of 8 megapixels. The Essential Phone can be equipped with accessories of its own as well via the pogo pin style connector on the back.

The Essential Phone is definitely one of the more promising phones this year, but we can’t be certain whether it will be as impressive as the rest in a tightly contested 2017. Let’s hope we can get out hands on an Essential Phone soon.
