Samsung’s low-end or entry level phones are often catered to the Asian market or consumers from developing countries. Such is the case of the Samsung Galaxy J2, and we have spotted its successor of the same name that have gone through GFXBench benchmarks, with a couple of upgrades in its spec sheet.
A benchmark of the Galaxy J2 2016, with the model number SM-J210 was found on the GFXBench site. The handset still sports minimal specs which are nothing to shout about. First off, the Galaxy J2 sees an increase in screen size from 4.7 inches to a 5-incher with 720p resolution. Under the hood lies a Spreadtrum SC8830 SoC in place of the Exynos 3475 Quad and a Mali-400 MP2 dual core GPU replacing the Mali-T720 in its predecessor. In the RAM department we’re looking at 50% more RAM – 1.5GB of RAM compared to the 1GB RAM from last year, although 2GB of RAM seems like a better option.
Camera optics however, remain the same from last year at 8MP for the rear cam and a 5MP selfie shooter. The Galaxy J2 2016 will be running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, topped with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. What do you think of the newere Galaxy J2?
