Despite making good phones, Motorola hasn’t been performing as well as it should be since the company got acquired by Lenovo. Lenovo has been reported to shift its focus for the future, launching more high end phones to target a slightly more niche market. But for now, Motorola has launched another budget series of smartphones – the Moto E4 and E4 Plus.
Design wise, both the Moto E4 and E4 Plus retains the general design cue of current Moto devices, mostly centered around the camera design and the fact that it has a metal build. The Moto E4 sports a 5-inch 720p display, while the E4 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen, retaining the same resolution. The smaller E4 features a Snapdragon 425 processor and its larger sibling packs a slightly better performing Snapdragon 427 chipset. Both phones have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with the E4 Plus getting another 32GB storage variant.
Since they are entry level smartphones, the camera package of these phones should be fairly decent at best. The Moto E4 has an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie camera. The larger E4 Plus sports a slightly better 13MP rear facing camera, with the same front facing snapper. The biggest difference lies in battery, where the Moto E4 packs a 2,800mAh battery. The Moto E4 Plus on the other hand, packs a battery which is almost twice as large in capacity, at 5,000mAh. Motorola did not specify the battery life of either handset, but the battery of the E4 Plus should last users for quite some time.
The Moto E4 will carry a price tag of $129.99 (RM553.82) while the Moto E4 Plus will start at $179.99 (RM766.84). Sounds like a decent buy for both these budget handsets. What do you think?
