Dell has today unveiled four new Inspiron laptops on its 5000 and 7000 series, available in screen sizes of 13 and 14 inches, they come in the 2-in-1 and standard laptop form factors.

For the 7000 series, the company has unveiled the Inspiron 13 2-in-1 (7386) and Inspiron 13 7380 laptops, which both sports a very premium design with thin display bezels and is powered by Intel’s 8th Gen Core U processors.

Both laptops will come equipped with 8GB of DDR4-2400 RAM and 256GB of PCIe NVME storage for the base model, they sport a battery life of up to 9 hours and 31 minutes and charges via USB-C Power Delivery or Dell’s standard AC adapter.

The Inspiron 13 2-in-1 in particular can be configured with an optional 4K display, and it is the first laptop to feature a 2.7mm miniaturised webcam that offers great low light performance with a Temporal Noise Reduction technology. The laptop also comes with Amazon’s Alexa assistant preloaded as an alternative to Microsoft’s Cortana.

As for the Inspiron 13 7380, you do get a pretty impressive LED display that features a 180-degree hinge, specs are pretty much the same like its 2-in-1 sibling, while you get a standard SD card slot rather than the MicroSD card slot, the display bezels are also noticeably thicker and comes with a plastic frame. The Inspiron 13 7380 will also support Dell’s CinemaColor, CinemaStream and CinemaSound that elevates the movie watching experience with better colours and sound.

The mid-range 5000 series are pretty attractive devices too, there’s the Inspiron 14 5000 2-in-1 (5482) and Inspiron 14 5480. Like the 7000 series, these laptops are also powered by 8th Gen Intel Core U processors, however they both offer entry-level discrete graphics, the 5482 uses a GeForce MX130 while the 5480 uses a GeForce MX150.

Apart from launching the new laptops, Dell has also taken the opportunity to introduce two new entry-level gaming monitors with 144Hz refresh rate and AMD Freesync in 24” and 27”.
