Dell has always been at the forefront of designing gaming laptops – and their latest Dell G7 15 (7500) is no different.

New design

The new refreshed look gives it an edgier look compared to last year’s instalment. There’s a cutaway hinge of sorts that makes the laptop look sleeker too; to complete the gaming aesthetics are RGB lights on the Dell logo, as well as at the bottom of the chassis and in the keyboard.

The 15-inch laptop boasts an 18.3mm-thin body to make the laptop as portable as possible. You can equip your G7 15 with up to an FHD 300Hz panel if you want to game on high frame rates, while the base variant of the laptop still comes with a decent 144Hz panel too. For creators, a UHD 60Hz OLED panel is available too.

When it comes to hardware, the Dell G7 15 can be fitted with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q (8GB); or you can opt for the base GTX 1660Ti variant (4GB) if you mainly play e-sports titles.

For the CPU, you can pack up to an Intel Core-i9-10980HK, and for memory you get up to 32GB 2,933MHz DDR4 RAM (dual channel). To store all your AAA games is up to a 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD. There’s only one slot available for a drive, so get the maximum capacity you can afford.

I/O ports & battery

In terms of I/O ports, you get one HDMI 2.0, a SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Type A, a 2-in-1 SD card reader, and depending on your model, either a USB-C DP port or a Thunderbolt 3 USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. There’s also an ethernet port and headphone jack too.

Powering the laptop is a 56Wh battery, or if you’re always on the go, a 86Wh pack is also available.

Price

The Dell G7 15 (7500) is priced from RM6,499 and will go on sale this July 14. You can visit Dell’s website here to buy the laptop when it goes on shelves.
