We all know how SSD and PCI-E SSD look like, but the Plextor M8PeY has definitely made us fall for it with its very smart looking case, there’s also a breathing red LED on top to make it look even more attractive. Coupled with the M8PeG M.2 SSD and Marvell 88SS1093 controller, the M8PeY is able to deliver up to 2500MB/s of sequential read and 1400MB/s of sequential write speeds. Available in storage capacities of 128GB up to 1TB, the 1TB model will come with a 1GB LPDDR3 DRAM cache while the rest of it will come with 512MB LPDDR3 DRAM cache.
On the other hand, Plextor has also showed off its EX1 series mini SSD drives which looks a lot like a power bank, it features a mangesium alloy chassis and has design attributes that is inspired by Cupertino, this product is made for users who wants portability and speedy data transfer speeds on the go, hence the EX1 series mini SSD is fitted with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port that claims to deliver up to 550MB/s of sequential read and 500MB/s of sequential write speeds, storage capacities are available from 128GB up to 512GB, and I am sure this won’t be the most affordable storage device to own.
