There are many Chinese New Year videos and ads on YouTube right now as the festive season is just four days away. Some are funny, some are creative and some will tear you up. To save you the trouble from searching each and every one of them, we’ve decided to list them out for you.
Heartwarming
Digi, Maxis and Apple all came out with their CNY videos this year that revolves around family members. All these videos include family feud and dissatisfaction, reaching a mutual understanding and finally achieving contentment together. Just prepare some tissues — you might cry.
Creative
TNB and Petronas take the creative road with their videos; the former uses VR to play out the whole CNY scene while the actor is actually in office and the latter uses clothing to represent family members. Needless to say, both videos also highlighted togetherness.
Funny
CNY videos don’t always have to be touching; take these videos from Perodua, Nike and Watsons. Their videos focus on cultures with humorous elements throughout the videos. Watsons includes modern trends and traditional practices while also including the different races in Malaysia to highlight unity. Meanwhile, Nike directs the whole video on the significance of red envelopes.
