One of Huawei’s supplier, Menpad, a Shenzhen based LCD display maker has threatened to fine its staffs if they purchased any Apple products. For staffs who have bought any Apple products, they will be punished by having to pay the company in the form of a fine with the same amount that is equivalent to the product that they have bought.
To show their nationalistic pride and support for Chinese companies, Menpad has also said that they will cease to buy any American products such as office equipment, computers and cars. Besides that, they will reward their staff who buys Huawei or ZTE phones by giving them a 15 per cent subsidy.
To top it all off, any staffs or employees who manages to sell off their products to the US will get double on their sales commission. This policy will be implemented in the company for as long as three years.
Menpad may be the first Chinese corporation to announce measures to support Huawei, which has been rocked by the arrest in Canada of its chief financial officer, who stands accused of violating US sanctions against Iran.
