CES 2024: Acer unveils new Swift laptops with Intel Core Ultra CPUs

Acer has broadened its Swift laptop series, integrating Intel® Core™ Ultra processors equipped with the first-ever neural processing unit (NPU) and enhanced AI acceleration. The updated Swift laptops promise elevated performance, making them more efficient for content creation, academic activities, productivity, and entertainment. These advancements in processing power and AI features enhance the laptops’ overall functionality and user experience.

James Lin, General Manager of Notebooks at Acer’s IT Products Business, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “Last month, we introduced our initial Intel Core Ultra laptops, and now, we’re adding more options to our Swift lineup. These updates aim to provide a broader customer base with access to top-tier laptop experiences and AI-supported technology, elevating PC usage to new heights.”

Jim Johnson, Intel’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Client Business Group, highlighted the collaborative efforts with Acer. “Our joint focus goes beyond the CPU, emphasizing power efficiency, graphics, and AI applications. The Acer Swift Go and Swift X 14 laptops are prime examples of AI PCs on the market, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors and a new NPU, enhancing collaboration, productivity, and creativity.”

Introducing Acer Swift Go Laptops

The Acer Swift Go series, including models Swift Go 16 (SFG16-72) and Swift Go 14 (SFG14-73), are certified Intel Evo platform laptops. They feature the latest Intel Core Ultra processors and Intel Arc GPUs, ensuring a balance of top-notch performance and extensive battery life—up to 12.5 hours for the 14-inch model and 10.5 hours for the 16-inch variant.

Key upgrades include AI-supported functionalities, such as a one-click Copilot in Windows, a 1440p QHD webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR), and Acer’s AI-enhanced PurifiedView and PurifiedVoice 2.0 technologies. These features promise enhanced video conferencing capabilities and superior audio clarity. The inclusion of Intel Wi-Fi 7 offers internet connections up to 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6E.

Both laptops boast a thin, lightweight aluminum chassis, innovative touchpad options, and Intel Unison 2.0 for seamless connection with Android or iOS devices. They also feature vibrant OLED displays with high brightness, color accuracy, and optional touchscreen capabilities.

Acer Swift X 14 – Tailored for Creatives and Students

The Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-72G) continues the tradition of empowering diverse users. It now includes Intel Core Ultra H-Series processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs, and a Calman-verified 2.8K OLED display. This configuration is ideal for demanding AI-enhanced workflows, including live streaming, video editing, and 3D rendering.

The laptop’s display ensures color accuracy crucial for creative professionals, complemented by Acer Light Sensing technology for optimal viewing experiences. The Swift X 14 also features advanced connectivity options, thermal technologies, and ample memory and storage capacity.
