CES 2021: ASUS unveils new ROG gaming monitor, keyboard and mouse

Apart from the new ROG laptops, ASUS also unveiled new peripherals such as the ROG Swift PG32UQ gaming monitor, ROG Claymore II and ROG Gladius III wireless mouse.

ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ

The ASUS ROG Swift PG32UQ is a 32-inch gaming monitor that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and an IPS panel with 1ms response time. It comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports so those who’d want to play 4K/120Hz games can do so via this monitor, especially those who recently purchased the PS5. The monitor also support up to 144Hz visuals, but you’ll have to rely on the DisplayPort 1.4 connection.

In addition to being a G-Sync compatible monitor, the ASUS Swift PG32UQ also comes equipped with ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync technology. These feature will help reduce screen-tearing and motion blur during gaming sessions. ASUS also states that the monitor is DisplayHDR 600 compliant and supports 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, so we’re expecting a display with good contrast and vibrant colours.

ROG Claymore II

This RGB gaming keyboard uses ROG RX Blue Optical Mechanical Switches, but it’s also available with ROG RX Red Switches. ASUS promotes a “near-zero debounce delay” as the keys come with a hollow-square stem, and with the corner latches at each keycap and an X-stabilizer mechanism, the keyboard will offer a wobble-free experience. The keyboard also comes with a magnetic wrist rest and a detachable numpad. This numpad can be attached to either side of the keyboard and also has extra control keys that can be used as macro commands; you’ll also get a scroll wheel for volume control.

The Claymore II can be used with and without wires; you can either connect it via USB-C or pair it via Bluetooth. The keyboard comes with a 4,000mAh battery that can last up to 40 hours in a single charge and can be charged via a USB-C cable. You can also customise your keyboard lighting as it features the Armoury Crate software and also comes with wireless Aura Sync.

ROG Gladius III Wireless

Along with the gaming keyboard, ASUS also showcased the ROG Gladius III Wireless — a 19,000 dpi mouse. Weighing at 89g, this gaming mouse comes with the Push-Fit Switch Socket II so users can pick between the 3-pin mechanical micro switches or the 5-pin Omron optical micro switches but more importantly, ASUS says it offers zero-click latency and a flexible ROG Paracord cable so you’ll get faster mouse movements. It supports tri-mode connectivity and you can get in two different modes — wired and wireless.

Availability and pricing

These ROG peripherals will be launched in Malaysia, but their pricing haven’t been confirmed. The PG32UQ monitor will be available by the first quarter of 2021.
