We were extremely impressed with ASUS’ TUF Gaming laptops when we reviewed it a little while ago, it had a great display, cooling and gaming performance for just under RM5000.

ASUS has unveiled new specs for its TUF Gaming laptops that run on AMD’s laptop chips, while it looks the same as its Intel models, both the 15-inch FX505DY and 17-inch FX705DY will rock a Ryzen 5 3550H quad-core APU, Radeon RX560X graphics and 1080p displays, with the FX505DY having a much higher display refresh rate at 120Hz.

While all of these sound like a significant downgrade from the Intel models, this would enable ASUS to cut costs and offer low budget gamers a decent entry-level device.

Thankfully, not everything on the AMD variant gaming laptop is stripped away, for instance you still get PCIe SSD storage and a secondary FireCuda SSHD storage, an all-zone RGB lighting keyboard, and the military grade build quality that is built to sustain accidental drops.

There hasn’t been a release date from ASUS, but we can expect these solid machines to be priced well below RM3500. Check out our review of the Intel variant TUF Gaming FX505 .
