Celcom recently held a safety awareness program with a focus on keeping children safe when browsing the Internet. The program is called Parents Unite for Online Safety program which is focused on equipping Pusat Internet 1Malaysia with the KidSafe app, a parental control tool for Internet Filtering.

The app can also be used right in your home, with the ability to filter dangerous content, monitor suspicious activity, setting an online time limit for your kids, control data limit, blocking apps and tracking your kid’s location. There is a subscription fee where parents will have three payment options, monthly will cost RM9.99, 6-months subscription costing RM54.99 and a 1-year plan will cost RM95.99.

Parents that are interested in safeguarding their kids from the dangers of the Internet can follow these simple steps to get the protection up and running:

  1. Send ON KS to 25005 to activate KidSafe.
  2. Follow instructions to register mobile number(s) that requires filtering service.
  3. Device(s) would need to approve Kidsafe.
  4. You’ll receive a link after confirmation to download a complimentary Kidsafe™ app.

This feature is only available on Android as it is difficult to implement these restrictive features on an iOS. If you need more information on this features, you can visit the KidSafe page here.
