Casio Malaysia launches ZR5000 compact camera and FR200 Outdoor Recorder

When it comes to taking selfies, Casio’s EXILIM cameras are still very much ahead of the competition for such purpose despite with the upcoming trend of better front cameras on smartphones, the company has launched two new products here today, the ZR5000 compact camera that comes with a 19mm super wide angle zoom lens and the FR200 outdoor recorder with a 180-degree Dome View Capture.

The ZR5000 in particular is a great compact camera when it comes to travelling, its super wide angle lens allow users to take beautiful landscapes without much effort and comes in even more handy when taking group pictures or wefies. Equipped with a 1/1.7-inch back-illuminated 12.1-megapixel CMOS image sensor, the ZR5000 has a focal length of 19-95mm that translates into 5x optical zoom and has a variable aperture range of f/2.7-f/6.4, if you think that zoom range isn’t enough, the ZR5000 features a premium zoom based on a super-resolution technology that lets you get even closer to your subject with a 10x zoom. For selfie lovers, the ZR5000 has a high resolution 921,600 dot 3.0-inch display that tilts up to 180 degrees, the camera also takes Full HD resolution videos in MOV and H.264 format and couple with the HS Anti-shake feature, your photos and videos are going to look really great with it, you can also transfer your photos to your smartphone with its built-in Wi-Fi connection.

The FR200 continues to be one of the most versatile outdoor recorder and succeeds the FR100 launched last year, Casio has upgraded the camera’s lens to be capable of taking a 180-degree Dome View shot, which is great for viewing on the EXILIM Album app and VR headsets, allowing users relive the outdoor experience they have captured. The FR200 has a detachable LCD-equipped controller that comes with a touch display, the camera module itself has shock resistance up to 1.3m and complies to IPX8 and IPX6 for water proofing and IP6X for dust proofing. In terms of specs, the FR200’s camera module is a 1/2.3-inch back-illuminated CMOS sensor that takes up to 21-megapixels, video recording is supported up to 4K30 and it does slow motion in HD with a 120fps, most interestingly it takes a Panorama video resolution of 2880×720 with 30 fps.

The ZR5000 and FR200 will be available later this month with a suggested retail price of RM1,949 and RM2,399 respectively.
