Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was one of the best entries in the Call of Duty franchise, so it isn’t too surprising to find out that Infinity Ward maybe remastering the original game and will be releasing it this year.
Based on a post on reddit, early cover art for this year’s Call of Duty installment, Infinite Warfare, shows that the game will apparently be bundling a remastered version of the original Modern Warfare. The cover also implies that the remaster will be a digital-only deal and that a purchase of Infinite Warfare will grant you a serial key that would allow you to download the remaster from the console/PC’s corresponding digital storefront.
Assuming that this isn’t a hoax, a Modern Warfare remaster could potentially overshadow Infinite Warfare. Currently, no one is quite sure if Activision will be offering the Modern Warfare Remaster as a standalone title, but seeing as Activision is a fan of money, it is probably safe to say that the remaster will be sold on all major digital storefronts by itself.
