BYD has officially introduced DENZA, its premium sub-brand, to the Malaysian market with the launch of the DENZA D9. Under the tagline “Redefining Sophistication,”
DENZA merges luxury, innovation, and sustainability to offer a new benchmark in premium electric mobility. BYD aims to cater to the growing demand for high-end electric vehicles while maintaining its commitment to green technology and continuous innovation.
DENZA was established in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, blending BYD’s advanced electric technology with Mercedes-Benz’s expertise in luxury.
After restructuring in 2021 and 2024, DENZA became a wholly owned subsidiary of BYD. Since launching its first model in 2014, DENZA has expanded its lineup across SUV, MPV, and sedan segments, positioning itself as a leading premium EV brand.

The DENZA D9, first introduced in 2022, exemplifies this vision by offering unparalleled comfort, safety, and smart technology. Designed to balance business and personal needs, the D9 has received positive feedback globally and is now making its way to Malaysia.
As a leader in high-tech automotive solutions, DENZA has equipped the D9 with an advanced e3 system that includes three electric motors for enhanced efficiency and performance.

The vehicle also features rear-wheel steering, ensuring superior maneuverability in various driving conditions. Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology enhances the vehicle’s structural integrity, while Vehicle Motion Control (VMC) optimizes stability and handling.
The DiSus intelligent body control system further enhances driving comfort, featuring DiSus-C active suspension, which makes real-time adjustments to road conditions, and DiSus-A, which fine-tunes the suspension for a smoother ride and improved off-road capabilities.

To elevate the in-car experience, DENZA has partnered with French luxury audio brand DEVIALET, renowned for its superior sound engineering and elegant design.
This partnership, launched in March 2023, integrates DEVIALET’s high-fidelity audio system into the DENZA D9, offering an immersive listening experience. Recognizing that true luxury extends beyond aesthetics, DENZA is committed to collaborating with premium brands to further enhance its vehicles’ innovation and sensory appeal.
The DENZA D9 is available in three exterior colors: Arctic White, Cosmos Black, and Whale Sea Blue. The interior offers two sophisticated color choices: Beige and Brown, further enhancing the vehicle’s premium aesthetic.
In Malaysia, the DENZA D9 is offered in two variants:
- DENZA D9 Advanced (FWD) priced at RM 259,000
- DENZA D9 Premium (AWD) priced at RM 309,000
To ensure peace of mind, the DENZA D9 comes with comprehensive warranty coverage. The battery is covered for up to 8 years or 160,000 km, with a State of Health (SOH) guarantee of over 70%. The drive motor and motor controller are also backed by an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty, while the vehicle itself is covered for up to 6 years or 150,000 km.

Customers who want to experience the DENZA D9 firsthand can attend the launch event at The Landing, KL Base, from February 21 to 23. The event will feature test drives, technology showcases, a VR showroom experience, and other exclusive activities. Visitors are encouraged to register in advance for a seamless experience.
