At ASUS Computex press conference today, the company has unveiled the successor to its original ZenBook 3 notebook, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe doesn’t look too different from its predecessor, but ASUS has in fact made significant changes to its most popular premium ultrabook, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe now features a larger 14-inch display fitted into a 13-inch chassis, which is all thanks to its NanoEdge display that sports extremely slim bezels, the notebook merely weighs 1.1kg and measures 12.9mm slim.
The ZenBook 3 Deluxe is clearly targeted at MacBook Pro users, ASUS has equipped it with 7th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 U processors and it supports up to 16GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz, it will also come with up to 1TB of PCI-E SSD, which will make it a pretty speedy machine. On top of that, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe has two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 enabled, it supports up to dual 4K UHD monitors and can be used with the company’s ROG XG Station 2 external GPU enclosure, which amplifies the graphics capability of the notebook and users can take advantage of it for video rendering work as well, ASUS has also claimed the ZenBook 3 Deluxe’s battery to last up to 9 hours on a single charge.
The 14-inch display is pretty impressive with a Full HD resolution, it covers 100% sRGB color gamut and has a TV grade 1000:1 contrast ratio, which delivers vivid true to life colors. To complement the entertainment experience, the notebook is also fitted with Harman/Kardon tuned quad speakers, with two of them at the top of the notebook and the other two at the bottom, ASUS has also included its Smart AMP amplifier, which enables better low frequency sound playback.
For the keyboard warriors, you’ll be glad that the ZenBook 3 Deluxe’s keyboard features a pretty decent 1.2mm key travel distance and I personally like the tactile feedback on them, the notebook’s glass covered trackpad is also very precise as it uses Windows Precision technology, and on the top right is a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello.
The ZenBook 3 Deluxe will be available later this year and retails from US$1,199 (MYR5,117), it will be available in colors of Royal Blue and Quartz Grey.
