With Intel’s Kaby Lake processors hitting the market soon, ASUS is prepping its own Kaby Lake motherboards in anticipation of its release. Ranging from workstations to the gaming-centric Republic of Gamers and Strix lines, ASUS’ upcoming series of Z270 motherboards will have something for everyone looking to adopt the Kaby Lake processors.

Before we jump into the juicy stuff, let’s talk about the more affordable motherboards. Starting off the Z270 craze, ASUS has the ASUS Prime motherboards. The Prime motherboards feature ASUS’ own exclusive 5-Way Optimization for one-click full-system tuning with upgraded auto-tuning that can easily overclock the processor to up to 4.8GHz and beyond. For temperature monitoring, the Prime has the Fan Xpert 4, giving it the ability to monitor GPU temperatures. In addition to that, the Prime comes with a third-gen T-Topology that pushes DDR4 to 3866MHz and beyond. For ports, the Prime Z270 comes with up to dual M.2 slots, USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports. For those looking to build and SLi setup, the Prime Z270-A and Z270-AR comes with the SLi HB Bridge.

Moving on, we have the ASUS TUF series, motherboards that have been tested by independent laboratories and have been certified as fit for military use. In a first for this series of motherboards, the TUF motherboards are made for overclocking. Much like the Prime, the TUF motherboards come with the new third-gen T-Topology tech for DDR4 RAM. The series also comes with Pro Clock, ASUS’ own base-clock generator, and Thermal Radar 2+ with TurboV Processing Unit (TPU) for precise voltage control and monitoring purposes.

Next up, we enter the Republic of Gamers series of motherboard. For those who are fans of the RoG Strix line of motherboards, you’ll be pleased to know that the Strix line will be receiving numerous variants of motherboards, ranging from full ATX boards all the way to mini-ITX boards, allowing you to build your gaming rig of choice.

As for the Maximus-line of motherboards, ASUS will be introducing the Maximus IX Code and Maximus IX Apex on top of updates to the pre-existing Maximus motherboards. Special mention needs to be made for the Maximus IX Apex as it is the flagship model of the Maximus line of motherboards. Build for overclocking enthusiasts, the Maximus IX Apex is capable of supporting extreme cooling methods such as liquid nitrogen or liquid helium. For those who would like to stick to the more traditional water-cooling, the Maximus IX Extreme and Maximus IX Formula will be perfect for your needs.
